Saravanan revealed the new Brickfields project blueprint about the Little India redevelopment project. The facilities that are part of the RM35mil Brickfields Little India project included a new brand of multi-storey carpark, a high-end Indian bazaar, souvenir centres and a food court, fruit stalls, flower and\u00a0<a title=\"information\" href=\"http:\/\/rmreview.com.my\/tag\/information\/\">information<\/a> kiosks being set up at strategic places that would bring some order to the chaotic township.<\/p>\n<p>The new look will feature an entrance archway located at the tail-end of Jalan Brickfields near the Naga restaurant and the Brickfields police station and a fountain at the junction of Jalan Travers and Brickfields. The project will see the The multi-storey car park will also be built near the DBKL sports complex and souvenir shop setting up a nearby pleasant atmosphere to work in, offering business\u00a0<a title=\"opportunities\" href=\"http:\/\/rmreview.com.my\/tag\/opportunities\/\">opportunities<\/a> for traders and boosting the image of charming township transformed into a cultural enclave reflecting the 1 Malaysia concept and provide a tourism attraction boost for Brickfields.<\/p>\n<p>Big plans in store for Brickfields area<\/p>\n<p>A MULTI-storey carpark, a high-end Indian bazaar, souvenir centres and a food court are some of the facilities that are part of the RM35mil Brickfields Little India project.<\/p>\n<p>The project will see the charming township transformed into a cultural enclave reflecting the 1 Malaysia concept and provide a tourism boost for Brickfields.<\/p>\n<p>At a press conference in Brickfields yesterday, Deputy Federal Territories and Urban Wellbeing Minister Datuk M. Saravanan revealed the blueprint that also saw facilities like fruit, flower and information kiosks being set up at strategic places that would bring some order to the chaotic township.<\/p>\n<p>The new look will feature an entrance archway located at the tail-end of Jalan Brickfields near the Naga restaurant and the Brickfields police station and a fountain at the junction of Jalan Travers and Brickfields.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cEverything will be put in order once the project is completed. The traders will be legalised \u2014 and the fruit and flower sellers will be placed in a clean and conducive environment,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n<p>Saravanan said there would also be a three-storey Indian bazaar at the end of Jalan Tun Sambanthan that will feature tailoring and beauty services, henna painting and everything related to Indian culture.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cA multi-storey car park will also be built near the DBKL sports complex and we are also setting up a souvenir shop nearby.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cJust imagine, we are providing people\u00a0<a title=\"Posts tagged with WITH\" rel=\"tag\" href=\"http:\/\/rmreview.com.my\/tag\/with\/\">with<\/a> a pleasant atmosphere to work in, offering business opportunities for traders and boosting the image of the township for residents.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cNo one will lose and no one will be kicked out,\u201d Saravanan assured residents.<\/p>\n<p>Saravanan, who is also MIC vice-president, stressed that the project must start as soon as possible if they were to complete it by November.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI am running out of time. We need to get started right away for Little India to be ready for its\u00a0<a title=\"official launch\" href=\"http:\/\/rmreview.com.my\/tag\/official-launch\/\">official launch<\/a> at the end of the year by Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak and Indian Prime Minister Manmohan Singh,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n<p>The entire stretch of Jalan Tun Sambanthan will also sport Indian-style street lighting akin to the Kuthu Velluku and Kolam designs in many colours.<\/p>\n<p>The first fruits of the mega project could be seen\u00a0<a title=\"Posts tagged with WITH\" rel=\"tag\" href=\"http:\/\/rmreview.com.my\/tag\/with\/\">with<\/a> the widening of the inner roads in Brickfields, as well as the beautification of Jalan Berhala.<\/p>\n<p>Indian Petty Traders Association\u00a0<a title=\"Kuala Lumpur\" href=\"http:\/\/rmreview.com.my\/tag\/kuala-lumpur\/\">Kuala Lumpur<\/a> and Petaling Jaya president Jothy Appalasamy welcomed the move to upgrade the township and reiterated his support for it.<\/p>\n<p>Restaurant Sri Paandi Sdn Bhd owner K.
