{"id":1920,"date":"2010-06-03T11:42:04","date_gmt":"2010-06-03T03:42:04","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.nurulizzah.com\/site\/?p=1920"},"modified":"2021-02-05T23:15:07","modified_gmt":"2021-02-05T15:15:07","slug":"pkr-urges-govt-to-scrutinize-cause-of-ptd-officers-death","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.nurulizzah.com\/site\/pkr-urges-govt-to-scrutinize-cause-of-ptd-officers-death\/","title":{"rendered":"PKR Urges Govt to Scrutinize Cause of PTD Officer\u2018s Death"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Malaysian Digest<\/p>\n<p><strong>KUALA LUMPUR, 3 JUNE, 2010: <\/strong>Lembah Pantai MP, Nurul Izzah Anwar, urged the federal government and the Public Service Department (JPA) to carry out a thorough open investigation into the recent death of a PTD officer, to determine if it was due to negligence.<\/p>\n<p>Nurul, in a press conference held at her office this morning, said that the death of 31-year old Finance Ministry&#8217;s PTD officer Norhashimah Wahid, after undergoing a \u2018commando-style\u2019 training module, is both \u201cdisturbing and regrettable\u201d.<\/p>\n<p>She expressed her disappointment with the response from the Finance Ministry which has refused o bear responsibility over Norhashimah\u2019s death.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/www.malaysiandigest.com\/images\/aidil\/politicians\/nurul izzah.jpg\" alt=\"alt\" \/><\/p>\n<h5>&#8220;What are the criteria set for companies to manage the<\/h5>\n<h5>training?&#8221; asked Nurul Izzah during the press conference.<\/h5>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/malaysiandigest.com\/news\/36-local\/4274-pkr-urges-govt-to-scrutinize-cause-of-ptd-officers-death.html\"><!--more--><\/a><\/p>\n<p>\u201cThis incident happened due to the lack of responsibility from those who handled the training. We recognize that in every course or training there will be predicaments but the most important thing is for those that had been entrusted to carry out a specified course should have a sense of responsibility,\u201c she said.<\/p>\n<p>Nurul, who had visited Nor Hashimah\u2019s family members in Keramat last Tuesday, also said that\u00a0 parties concerned should inform the trainees&#8217; families when something happened. She also said that training centres should also have a doctor on standby who to provide early treatment to participants before they are sent to hospital.<\/p>\n<p>She added that most government-administered training courses are managed by companies which are selected by the government, adding that the authority should check whether these companies are genuinely qualified to conduct these courses.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWho was giving out these contracts, what are the criteria for the company that is to be selected to manage the training? This is what is most important.
