{"id":843,"date":"2009-03-27T04:38:39","date_gmt":"2009-03-27T11:38:39","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.nurulizzah.com\/site\/?p=843"},"modified":"2020-02-18T15:02:39","modified_gmt":"2020-02-18T07:02:39","slug":"press-statement-macc-investigations-against-keadilan-leaders","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.nurulizzah.com\/site\/press-statement-macc-investigations-against-keadilan-leaders\/","title":{"rendered":"Press Statement: MACC Investigations against KeADILan leaders"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>PRESS STATEMENT FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE\u00a0<br \/>\nMarch 26, 2009\u00a0<br \/>\n\u00a0<br \/>\n<strong><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">MACC INVESTIGATION OF KEADILAN LEADERS<br \/>\n<\/span><\/strong><br \/>\nIt is oddly coincidental that as we prepare for another by-election the MACC has once again raised the spectre of corruption among Pakatan Leaders.\u00a0 They do so while ignoring the brazen acts of corruption taking place in UMNO\u2019s own backyard including:\u00a0<br \/>\n\u00a0<br \/>\n\u2022 The misuse of public funds disclosed in the Balkis charity hearings<br \/>\n\u2022 The admission that money politics has affected the outcome of the UMNO elections<br \/>\n\u2022 The misappropriation of public funds in the payment of exorbitant commissions for military procurements<br \/>\n\u00a0<br \/>\nIt is imperative that the government takes seriously its obligation to combat corruption and not practice selective justice in its application of the law.\u00a0 We demand that any investigations by the MACC be conducted in a professional and transparent manner without political interference.\u00a0<br \/>\n\u00a0<br \/>\nKeadilan\u2019s commitment to good governance and accountability is unwavering.\u00a0 Dato Seri Anwar Ibrahim has reiterated that our leaders must meet and exceed the standards of ethical conduct. Party members found to have violated the public\u2019s trust will face appropriate disciplinary actions.
